Ordos is hosting the Ninth Kubuqi International Desert Forum on Aug 25-27. This graphics page showcases the city"s desertification prevention and control efforts and achievements in recent years. The three-day forum hopes to make new contributions to effectively address the challenge of desertification and explore innovative solutions to promote global environmental sustainability.
第九屆庫布其國際沙漠論壇于8月25日至27日在鄂爾多斯舉辦。論壇主題為“以科技引領治沙 讓荒漠造福人類”，旨在推動國內外荒漠化防治與生態文明建設科技創新交流合作，傳播我國防沙治沙科技創新經驗成果，助力構建人類命運共同體。
Ordos located in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, covers an area of 87,000 square kilometers and has a permanent population of about 2.2 million.
鄂爾多斯市位于內蒙古自治區西南部，全市總面積8.7萬平方千米，擁有常住人口約220萬。
Ordos is a key area of the land sandification prevention belt in northern China and home to the Kubuqi Desert and part of the Maowusu Sandy Land, which account for about 53 percent of the city"s total area. Though implementing important ecological project, it has worked miracles, turning part of the Kubuqi Desert green.
鄂爾多斯是中國北方防沙帶的重點地區，也是約占全市總面積53%的庫布其沙漠和毛烏素沙地所在地，多個重要生態工程的實施讓庫布其沙漠創造了沙漠變綠洲的奇跡。
